Saint & Co recently surveyed businesses across Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway to find out their
payroll behaviours, and this is what we found:
• 20% of businesses spend 20 hours per month on salary runs;
• 68% of respondents admitted they dislike doing their own payroll, but still choose to do so;
• Nearly 100% of respondents said they do their own payroll because they have the perception that it is expensive to outsource.
There are a lot of misconceptions around payroll services and it can cost as little as £25 per month + VAT for a sole director including pension if they outsource it to professional accountants.
